"Well, for starters, he is definitely not the evil mastermind that brought us all here," Molly says with a shake of her head, her smile warm. "Which I know it seems like anyone who works for him would say, but I've been on his staff for... a while now, and if he has anything to do with it, he hides it insanely well." It's hard to fathom, really, that someone she's worked so closely alongside could harbor a secret of that scale. Of course, as soon as she thinks so, she realizes she's maybe not the best judge of character on that front, remembering her own history, but that was different. That was a few months, a few dates. This has been day in and day out for years now. If he were behind it, there would have been something; he would have slipped up eventually.
Trust hasn't come so easily for her since she found out she'd been dating a serial killer, but her boss is one of the few people who fits the bill.
"As for what he does — it's not really all that different from what any mayor of any city does, except with a massive side of all the weird — things that happen here on a regular basis. Keeps things running smoothly, works with the city council, makes the occasional public appearance. There was an... incident on New Year's, and there've been fewer of those since, but they still happen."
